WestJet said Saturday it was “experiencing a significant IT outage” that had ramifications on a range of its operations, including reservations and check-in.
“We anticipate potential flight delays,” the Calgary-based airline said in a statement posted on Facebook.
WestJet encouraged passengers to check if or how their flights were affected before going to the airport.
As of 5 p.m., the Ottawa airport arrivals/departures list showed only one WestJet flight that was delayed — WS224 from Edmonton.
In a tweet, the airline suggested that “many other major retailers” were being affected by the IT outage.
The airline said it would post additional updates on Facebook and Twitter.
