CUASA to hold Information Pickets on Wednesday, October 15

CUASA, the association representing faculty and professional librarians
at Carleton, has advised that there will be information pickets at the
entrances to campus tomorrow morning. The pickets will be set up at
both the Bronson Avenue and Colonel By entrances to campus from 7:00 to
10:00 a.m. The picketers will be distributing information pamphlets.
Everyone should expect some delays when entering campus. Whether
driving, walking, or biking to campus, please proceed carefully and be
prepared to stop.

CUASA is in a legal strike position and has set a strike deadline of
Monday, October 20. Both the University administration and CUASA are
prepared to continue negotiations. Further mediation talks between the
two parties are scheduled for October 18 and 19.

The University administration remains hopeful that a settlement will be
reached and a strike averted. Further information on the negotiations
and strike contingency plans will be communicated to students and
