I suppose what I should do now is to call Rogers again to see if there is any chance they agree to reactivate my Internet Service or apply for Internet service from a new network provider.

Buddy, if they re-activate your account, you will have to change your "life style" in order to keep the account active. Will be difficult for you if you keep finding really good BT movies.

See what we are running into? We need more bandwidth, we need a faster and more powerful internet.

never tried BT before. Normally I limit uploading limit to 15k in edonkey so that it won't produce too many traffic.

I think 10 - 20 G per month is reasonable.

I've never used BT to download. I hate BT!!
But some of my roommates, were believed to use that through my account.

Rather than downloading movies from the Internet, I prefer watch movies in cinemas. My love for movies may be extremely deeper than what you imagine it to be.

Anyway, I decided to open an account with Bell, at least for myself only.
I am afraid of sharing!!!

I can get 100KB/S in BT
and I heard someone can reach over 250KB/S.

That does not depend on his internet speed.
It mainly depends on the seeds' speed and how many seeds.

If only 10 seeds has the first 1M of that file, and 200
people needs that part, there's no way to speed it up at
that moment.

ROGERS最不要脸的是，今天连我在ROGERS的EMAIL都突然停了，我所有找工作的地址都留的那个啊。

怎么可以用这种email地址联系工作啊。晕。学校的email都不建议用。最好是hotmail之类的。

that's my doubt too.
if more than one G for a day, what r these people downloading?
I use BT,flashget too, I might download one to two movie every
week. But won't get to as much as 15G every month.
And for BT, it's nearly impossible to get a 700M movie in one night.
Maybe once or twice. But I should say, download movie from BT is not
much faster than other software.

By the way, I don't quite agree Rogers can be called 奸商 because of
this. Maybe they are, but not because of this.

I can get 100KB/S in BT
and I heard someone can reach over 250KB/S.

i can get 160k/s in emule, but i only can get 120k/s in bt

去年一年快下了1TB的东西..

peak speed can not be taken as average speed.
Do you guys get over 100KB/s for all the time or for over 70% downloadings?

If you use flashget to download stuff from microsoft, I am telling you that
you will see the flashget window freeze a little bit at first, then it shows
up to 350KB/s.

So the download speed mostly depends on the source, neither your internet nor
download software.

And one more thing :
the reason that BT is getting more and more popular is not it's much faster like magic.
It is because BT relieves the burden of those ftp or http download servers. It distributes
the traffic to end-users. The download websites are happy with that. Then they
promote this kind of downloading more and more, broadcast these BT files more and more.

The result is people using BT "becomes" the download service provider, who are actually only
using residential internet connection. This reduces the web sites' cost and ISP's income.
So ISP like rogers is making some actions to stop this.

其实抱着合同贪便宜的人不在少数....
Business要有一个均衡点么....
双方利益达到最大化..不止是用户或者company..

后来退货换了一个,再没问题了
我当时特别郁闷
ibm硬盘用了半年多都没坏,新买的居然坏了

俺用的1.7MB ADSL, 用BT同时下载两个文件时, 种子较多时经常在100KB-200KB之间.
如果做种几乎总是可以饱和上传通道.

还是喜欢ftp, 虽然慢些, 可有太多东西没有人愿意去发布BT, 更不用说做种.
BT眼下主要还是小年青下电影和盗版等流行东西用的.
