Re:forest

<HTML>I do not know how York U can be compared with Ottawa U, they are not in the same category at all.

No university can garantee anybody to find a job, even in U of Toronto, there are still a lot of graduators who can not find a job after graduation.

I am sure you will be disappointed in York U also.

At the same time, I am sure you do not know how the rankings are produced.

Let's just talk about your ranking above, are you familiar with Acadia, Rhyerson, such bad universities can be ranked in the list, I just wonder where you can get such a garbage thing and how you can be fooled by such a garbage thing.

Can I give you some suggestion, you are not suitable to learn MBA, I can not see that you have any hope in this field from your naive opinions and actions.</HTML>

<HTML>Hi, yeah, i am from Admin too. if you are a special student, u need to take ADM2300 and ADM2301 right, they are hard, don't you think? If u need any help or anything, mail me, i took those courses, so I know how hard first year could be. Also, as I know, there will be a Chinese Students Association General Meeting on the coming Friday at our faculty. If u come, u can meet me in person and I can introduce u to some other special studnets and regular students of Adminstration.</HTML>

Re: to: maclean's university ranking

<HTML>Forest, you must be mistaken. McLeans stopped making overall rankings of Canadian universities for quite a while, they had been fiercely criticized for their ranking criteria. Instead, it ranks universities in 3 groups, below is their 2000 ranking, and U of Ottawa made the shortlist, No. 9, a jump over U of Montreal from the year before.
p.s. I'm actually graduated from McGill, just thought that people should be well informed.

Re: to: maclean's university ranking

<HTML>the guest ,

you are wrong.

maclean's has overall ranking in year 2000. it is published offically.

it is on the web in pdf form.

it you don't believe, I can show you the website.

you can also go to bookstore(chapter or
indigo to find the university overall ranking in maclean's magain.)

ottawa u is not in overall ranking because it is a garbage school.

haha!!</HTML>

Re: to: maclean's university ranking

<HTML>Forrest, see the link I posted, that's directly from McLean's archive. I don't know where your got your information from, you are probably talking about subject ranking, and that's different from overall ranking. And yes I'd like to see the link that pdf file.

Although it is not the best school in Canada, Ottawa U is not a garbage school, it ranked No. 1 in funds allocated to each student. Also its bilingual teaching is very unique. Actually where you go to school does not really matter. It all comes down what you've really learned from that school. Top schools also produced garbage students.</HTML>

Re: to: maclean's university ranking

<HTML>Good point, TheGuest, go on! Some so-so schools also produce excellent scholars, e.g. the 1997 Economics Nobel Prize Winner Myron Scholes (the co-author of famous Black-Scholes model) graduated from McMaster University for his undergradute studies (he entered the University of Chicago for his Ph.D.). McMaster U is not a top school, just a little ahead of Ottawa U. Undergraduate studies just teach you a thinking logic and some basic knowledge. You need to learn for your whole life.</HTML>

Re: to: maclean's university ranking

<HTML>Yes, top schools may produce some garbage. But garbage schools like Ottawa U produce tons of garbage students every year. That is scaring.

Besides, McMaster U is much better than Ottawa U. It is called MIT in Canada.

The most famouse eight universities in Canada.

University of Waterloo

U of Toronto

queen's U

Mcgill U

Mcmaster U

UBC

U of alberta

U of western ontario

Ottawa U is even worse than York U and carleton U. what a joke. But i am not joking.</HTML>

Re: to: maclean's university ranking

<HTML>It does not make much sense to argue about the rank of the universities, as long as you learn from univ study. Carleton U and OU is really similar. Most of universities in Canada are OK. As the rank you mentioned, it is just for BS study. The rank itself does not really say much. For example, I saw Mount Allison is better than Dalhousie. I wonder in what sense. Maclean each year rank the universities in Canada. It's more just for students to choose which university is more suitable than for us using it as a guideline as which university is more famous. Everyone knows how to make decision. For example, every year Mount Allison ranks really high in under study. However, the best in Canada does not really go there. Why? Go figure. Just use your own judgment and find the best for yourself. As OU, it is definitely not a garbage school.</HTML>
