knowing that it's propably very difficult to get a flight shot with this background, I decided to move even closer to take some tight head shots. I go straight toward the tree on which the owl stand. 6meter, 4, 3, 2 and then right underneath the tree. It's about 1-2 meter away from me. Now he feels uneasy. Before he took off, I took 2 shots which I like very much. Both of these not resized with no crop.

fad, for this angle you must be very very careful to prevent yourself from something you see in my picture.

Well, today I did some more owl shooting despite that I'm not full recovered from the cold yet. Drove to Fallowfield/Shea as pinpointed by YP but no luck of snowy owl. Guess the time is not right.

Then I went back to the good old owl home - March valley road. My effort is finally rewarded. An asian guy who is shooting Nikon F80 with 小竹炮+1.7TC was chasing an owl right beside the road. Later he told me that owl has been hunting for a while. I joined him and the owl put a good show. He flied down from the tree to the ground searching for something and then flied back. What a good opportunity for catching the flight owl ! Even better, the owl did this 3-4 times in less than 20 minutes 1

Finally get some good flight photos and I can now sleep better I hope.

40. BTW, used manual mode since it's cloudy and light is not changing. When using Av, I get severe under-exposure due to the white background.
