(After I first came to Canada, I visited New York City and called myself Canadian there, but a white young canadian yelled to me:"Go Back To Where You Come From"!)。 (I've also seen a lot of friendly Canadian)。

2) The white Canadian does everything in a much more professional way than some chinese do. Even as a volunteer worked as a formal employee without payment. Some behavior, in the eye of the whites, is an offense to the rule set by Bible, their rule of life. Believe me, most white in Ontario are loyalist now as they were in history.

3) Weaving in your spear time at the work as a volunteer is nothing to chinese, but it shows you are not serious enough, hence not respectful to this job and it enraged "The Old Lady" - the headmaster.

4) Your letter to the headmaster is titled "To the old lady" and it smells offensive. It's better for you to calm down first. One criteria to do things in Canada is - do it on your own, don't make it political, such as race discrimination. At least in this case I don't feel offended.

5) Nowadays China is over-competitive, Keep the image of all the Chinese!

6) Send your daughter to another school and stop the harassment. Save your daughter and yourself.

LZ没有公布old lady的姓名,贴到这里时,用”To the old lady”代替了。

I agree with you but...

Sigh!! I agree with you. Nevertheless, we should have an open mind in this case(if we want more Chinese to immigrate to Canada).

If we, all the Chinese, can overcome some ugly habits, such as be polite, keep personal hygiene, have an open, modernized culture. We would mitigate the race discrimination issue to the minimum.

I have seen some white immigrants from British who are very good followers, so I think to be disciplinary and professional is just a habit of the white Ontarians. Do you agree?

I have to mention that I am very glad to see now more and more Chinese have a better manner in the modern world. I have more confidence on Chinese when the China is getting richer.

Re: We did it!

AGREE.

Why so many Chinese here only care about their own interests and blame LZ for knitting? Those people only care about their own "image" whether it would be damaged by LZ's knitting or not.

As you've noticed, in Canada, even for some of the criminals, they still get the strong support from their family, not to mention what LZ did just knitting. Why LZ could not get a strong support from those people who come from the same country as LZ? Why so many people are only focusing on LZ's volunteer job? Don't you think the child is the only victim in this case? I knew there are some of the non-Chinese volunteers who read their own books when volunteering. Is there any difference between reading one's own book and knitting one 's sweater?

Stop blaming LZ for knitting. I would say that LZ did nothing wrong. In this case, if the teacher or other volunteers thought the knitting was unacceptable, they could have pointed out directly to LZ; they could have assigned some jobs to LZ to do... . They just shouldn't hurt the child behind her mother.

For those people who think LZ damaged the image of Chinese, I would say, she didn't, and you are the one who is damaging the image of Chinese. Because, from you, others can easily regard Chinese as a plate of dry sand who would never support each other.

So, let's stop blaming LZ and, be supportive.

( Finally, sorry for writing in English. Due to some technical issues, the Chinese Language software was removed from my computer. )

Don't forget decades ago Chinese was the only race not allowed to immigrate to this country.

Things changed drastically now, but don't expect everybody just throw this discrimination stuff out of the window completely.
