车被撞了,请教索赔问题

请教问题我的车前天被一个U-HAUL的车撞了, (我们停在路口,他突然向后倒), 租U-HAUL的人想私了.
我到MAACO评估了一下,要换BUMPER COVER 和里面的BUMPER
要900多,对方嫌太贵,要带我到一个他朋友的朋友那修.各位高人指点一下我该如何处理.
另外,万一他赖帐,通知保险公司的期限是几天?
(我只有他的driver license# 和 U_HAUL plate #, cell-phone#)

if you claim insurance, probably is 500 deductible, then insurance only paid 400

No. if it was not your fault, you don't have to pay the deductions.

报保险公司的时间在你的保险文件中有，总之是越快越好。不是你的责任，对方是要全赔的。
想私了，你去车行估个价，再让他给个价，如差不太多，马上把现金收了。差的太多，就报保险公司。一般对方会同意多付一点的。

我的保险公司要对方的policy#,但他是租U-HAUL的车,我当时没问他要,后来打他的手机他也不复了. 我的保险公司说可以试着联系他. 我还没有申报,主要是担心1)我的保险没有包自己,2)如果保险公司问他,他不承认怎么办(他后来自称是UofO Law School的学生.我当时也是看他象学生, 又是在帮朋友搬家,才不想为难他的. 结果搞的自己为难了).
我也问了U-HAUL公司,他们说有车牌号就可以申报, 但我想知道申报以后的处理会怎样.
另外,U-HAUL和我的保险公司都说一年内都可以申报

不知有没有类似经验的
想听听各位的高见

Don't trust their talks - check your policy instead. Generally, auto insuree should report accident in 2 or 3 days ASAP. They may simply refuse your claim if you report late without reasonable explanation.

there's no need to guess the other people---just get all his insurance information and make a claim to his insurance ASAP. It'll save a lot of things in the end.
