最近好像渥村的房子又开涨了啊

hehehe......It is good to buy low (hopefully, it is low). I signed purchase agreement a couple of months ago. Since then, price of that model has been raised by $13,000. Bad thing is: design center may raise the price on upgrades as well; if it does, I will have to pay extra.

Surprisingly, in my area, nobody seems to be interested in corner units. Is that because of the premium or is there anything else I do not know about corner units ?

you are so lucky! upgrade fees will be raised a little, not too much!

You mean end unit? Maybe it costs more for heat.

No, the problem is with the lawn. You have to take care all the lawn surround your house. cutting, watering, and fertilizing.

Another problem is the traffic. End unit usually is facing major traffic roads.

house price in ottawa

Actually, there is much fewer houses in Ottawa that have been listed for selling since this year. Probabily, people hesistates to change their houses or too many people changed theirs in last a couple of years. So, it is tough for the people trying to find a resell house here with good price, location, condition, etc.

The house market seems to be hot here becaquse of the two facts, one is new policy for provincial tax and another one is lower interest rate of mortgage. But, I do not think it can continue for a long term. Inflation might be a big push for the price, but eventually, it will make crash of house market.

I own a house in nepean area, actually, I do not like the house price jumping too fast since the property tax increases too much in the last 2 or 3 years (my tax increased from $4500 to $5700). It means I lose my real money, and only get virtual money from city hall document.

I agree that it is difficult to find a resale single family house, because many people don't feel it is the right time to sell their house (especially double garage, 4-bedroom ones). But those looking for resale townhomes are in luck. A lot of resale ads are posted recently in townhouse segments.

The future of housing market looks rosy. There is a lot of potential in Ottawa's houses, since it is still far below the price level of Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary. Just compare Ottawa to Calgary 5 years ago. And I do not believe the housing price will go down because of government recent announcement. The HST tax will not have a large effect because if it will, Toronto will suffer the most (avg selling price is already 400k, above the tax level). Those looking for houses (new and resale) should act fast.
