I won't label myself as Christian Progressive or Christian Conservative but I am definite not a believer of "the theory of evaluation" (well, I was). Nevertheless, I think the article you referred to is a good one because any dialogue among human beings on a rational basis is good.

I hope Riven could move it to this forum.

By the way, please pass my regards to your niece. I believe science has helped and will continue to help us better understand God by understanding more about God's creation. I would have been saddened as you if my kid (or niece) had made such a choice.

Nevertheless, rejection of modern science and technology on the basis of personal belief is a personal choice. There is no right or wrong about it. At the end of the day, it is up to your niece alone to decide what is good for her. Please keep this in mind when you try to “re-educate” her.

You simply can not believe the theory of evolution. If you do, the theory in the bible will collapse for you. It does not matter that religious people do not like it. It is a science which does not have a lot to do with religion.

One thing you may need to know: God does not need 7 days to create the universe because he can do it in zero second. I am also wondering what God would do alone if God did not create the universe. It is so obvious that the story was made up. It is so sad that so many people still believe it.

Religious people try to get other people in. One reason is that they can collect money from them because modern religion has become a good besiness. Another reason is that they can manipulate them like politicians.

I was told that two types of people are easier to become religious. One type of people is weak and needs to pray for money. Another type of people is very rich and needs to pray for the sin they committed in the process of getting rich.
