省府还是保守党当权好。

开车女士的借口我一般都不信多一半都是梦里编的,凡事都要讲事实
没钱不是违章乱纪的借口,法律面前人人平等,不乱停就不会被罚很简单的道理。

Ontario/Ottawa Demerit Point System

Drivers convicted of certain driving-related offences in Ontario/Ottawa, including speeding, stunt driving and careless driving, have demerit points recorded on their records. It is a common misconception that drivers "lose" points due to convictions for certain traffic offences. In fact, a driver begins with zero demerit points and accumulates demerit points for convictions. Demerit points stay on your record for two years from the offence date. If you collect enough points, you can lose your driver′s licence. Below is a table outlining the demerit point penalties for driving offences :

7 Demerit Points

■ Failing to remain at the scene of a collision

Demerit Points and New Drivers

As a Class G1, G2, M1 or M2 driver, if you get two or more demerit points, you will be sent a warning letter. At six points, you may have to go to an interview to discuss your record. If you don′t attend, your licence may be suspended. At nine points, your licence will be suspended for 60 days. After the suspension, the number of points on your record will be reduced to four. Any additional points could again bring you to the interview level. If you reach nine points again, your licence can be suspended for six months.

Demerit Points and Fully Licensed Drivers Ontario/Ottawa

As a fully licensed driver, if you get six demerit points, you will be informed about your driving record.

At nine points, you may have to go to an interview to discuss your record and give reasons why your licence should not be suspended. You may also have to complete a driver re-examination (vision, knowledge and road tests). If you fail, your licence will be cancelled.

If you fail to attend an interview, or fail to give good reasons for keeping your licence, your licence may be suspended.

At 15 or more points, your licence will be suspended for 30 days from the date you surrender it to the Ministry of Transportation for the first suspension. You can lose your licence for up to two years if you fail to surrender your licence. A driver′s licence may be surrendered at any Driver & Vehicle Licence Issuing Office or mailed to:

Ministry of Transportation
Driver Improvement Office
Building A, Main Floor
2680 Keele Street
Downsview, ON M3M 3E6

After the suspension, the number of points on your record will be reduced to seven. Any extra points could again bring you to the interview level. If you reach 15 points again, your licence will be suspended for six months.

Watch for Emergency Vehicles

Everyday, police fire and ambulance vehicles respond to urgent calls. Precious time lost getting there could mean the difference between life and death.

Reacting to an approaching emergency vehicle - WHAT TO DO
On a multi-lane highway (max. 100km/h speed limit)

Slow down, signal and move to the right. If possible, pull as close as you can to the right side of the roadway and stop when safe to do so. Do not move onto the shoulder.

On a two-lane road
Signal and move to the right. Pull as close as possible to the right edge of the road, clear of any intersection, and stop.

On a one-way street
Signal and pull to the right or the left side of the street, clear of any intersection, and stop.

At intersections
Traffic in an intersection or approaching from all directions must yield to an emergency vehicle until it passes through the intersection. Never block the intersection. Do not make a left turn if an emergency vehicle is approaching from behind. In this situation, the motorist should proceed straight through the intersection, then pull to the right and stop.

Take lights and sirens seriously. Pull to the right and stop. It’s the law.

Police vehicles can use blue flashing lights in combination with red and white lights.
REMEMBER…
  • Stay alert. Avoid distractions. Keep the noise level down in your vehicle.
  • Use your signals to alert other drivers you intend to pull over. Check your rear-view mirrors, look in front and on both sides of your vehicle.
  • Do not drive on or block the shoulder on freeways. Wait for the emergency vehicle(s) to pass. Check to make sure the way is clear and signal before merging back into traffic.
  • It is illegal to follow a fire vehicle or ambulance responding to a call, within 150 metres.

APPROACHING A STOPPED EMERGENCY VEHICLE - WHAT TO DO

Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act requires motorists when approaching a police, fire or ambulance vehicle stopped with its red lights flashing in the same direction of travel, either in a lane or on the shoulder of the road, to slow down and pass with caution. If the road has two or more lanes the motorist must move over into another lane, if it can be done safely.

First Offence - $400 to $2,000, plus 3 demerit points upon conviction

Second Offence (within 5 years) - $1,000 to $4,000, possible jail time up to 6 months and possible suspension of driver’s licence for up to 2 years.[/B]
