Not correct. For that case whom earn over C$100,000. He did a lot of overtime, 7 days a week and many long shift per day. Maybe the guy who hit the car on weekend, did the same thing as maybe he was sleeping at the time.

yes, u r right
anyway their pay is not bad(maybe too high)

Re: Pictures of the Victim Family

And it is ridiculous to read this, this guy is still paid by OC.
Also his name is called hurt, and this time he is really hurting some family badly.

.....................

While police contemplate charges against Lawrence Burt, he has been given indefinite paid leave to receive trauma counselling. Coincidentally, Mr. Burt's Gloucester apartment building overlooks the four-kilometre stretch of Highway 174 leading up to the scene of the collision

:flaming:

are you happy the dead ppl are not Chinese ?!?

:kan:

It's mind-boggling as there is no apparent reason at this point that the bus driver could not avoid the stalled car. However I do not want to speculate that the bus driver hit the car on purpose since he is a veteran driver for more than 20 years... The whole thing makes no sense at all!

Not happy for any death.

What I mean is that it could be more sorrow for us, Chinese community, if the death is chinese. There are lots of Chinese death accident in Toronto and Vancouver.

I don't agree with your point of view. I don't feel any less sorrow for this terrible accident whether the victims be from the Sri Lankan community, aboriginal communicty, chinese community, vietnamese community, african community, indian community or hooplahoopla community. Tragedies are equally tragic, regardless of the race of the people who suffers.

Tragedies are equally tragic. Basically that's right. But the sorrow still can be different at some degree. Think about this way, if your friend had been hurt in this accident, you probably would feel more sorrow about it. You can say no, but I can say for most of people(including me) the answer is yes.

When viewing a tragic, people, of course, will have different degree of sorrow.

If one tragic happened to the people I know, or the poeple that I have the similar background as him/her, I will have deeper sorrow for sure. But it doesn't contain any sense of happiness when viewing the other's tragic.

I think you are missing Mitsumi's point: it was in response to the title of this post - I wish dead poeple are not Chinese --- Damn OC transpo. I was really stunned by it too: why does it matter what the victims' race is? Why has it even been brought up as an issue?! (no offense to Rock :))

I wish my friend was not involved in that accident."

Maybe I should say in ENGLISH:

I wish no Chinese was involved in that tragedy. Any objection?
Any offence?

(1) Wording One

(2) Wording Two

"Non whites invades Barheaven" 和"No white invades Barheaven"
