Driver strikes elderly woman in Westboro

Commuters were warned to avoid part of northbound Churchill Avenue in Westboro Monday afternoon after an elderly woman was struck by a vehicle.

First responders were called to Churchill Avenue between Wilmont Avenue and Scott Street at about 2 p.m. The woman was taken to hospital but her condition wasn’t immediately known as police were continuing to investigate the crash.

The city’s traffic control centre tweeted it isn’t known how long the road would be closed and motorists should use other routes.
