More than 30 Gatineau firefighters worked for almost three hours to put out a stubborn fire Saturday morning in the city’s northwest Plateau neighbourhood.
Responders were called to the commercial building at 616 August Monoux St. shortly before 7 a.m. and found the commercial building fully engaged in flames.
Workers from three businesses in the building had managed to escape.
Officers quickly called a second alarm for more responders and equipment and, at one point, about 14 trucks were at the site.
Firefighters declared the scene under control at about 10 a.m.
There were no reports of injuries and the dollar value of damages was not available.
