精华 请教关于Enhanced Security Clearance 申请

Hi,

一个单位答应要给我申请Enhanced Security Clearance。 我也看过本栏目精华区关于这方面的讨论。但仍然还有个问题请教。

以前的文章，多数提到要提供检查过去5年的居住地址。但我在申请表中注意到以下项目要求选定。
C. CONSENT AND VERIFICATION (To be completed by the applicant and authorized Departmental/Agency/Organizational Official)
[X] Date of birth, address, education, professional qualifications,
employment history, personal character references

然而，在表中没有让添Employment history and Education。

请有经验的谈谈，employment history 和 education 这方面实际是如何操作的？

简单说，你把个人情况，过去5年的家庭住址，以及在哪里干什么精确到月份写清楚就行了。
他们不在乎你干过什么，他们关心的是你工作生活的地点，以便日后调查。

但在申请表中没有填工作及教育的信息，只有5年的家庭住址。工作及教育的信息是以后再问你要还是怎么处理？我比较关心这方面的问题。请你或其他知情者详细指点。

security clearance 不能自己申请。更不是上培训班和花钱的事。而是，如果某个单位对你感兴趣，它帮你申请。

It is impossible and no use if you get it yourself

Security Clearance is connected to your employer and yourself. After you get the Security Clearance, if you change your employer, you have to apply it again. Although it may take less time to get a new one, there will be no much difference for an Enhanced Security.

Really! If changing employer, it need to apply Security Clearance again?

But, I found that a lot of openning say "require Enhanced Security Clearance Ready". What's than mean? Does it mean it would much more easier to apply for it if you are Enhanced Security Clearance ready?

One more question: if one employer is applying it for me but have not hire me, could I apply other employers's job which is also need to apply Enhanced Security Clearance?

No. Once you got it, it's valid for 10 years.

I found that a lot of openning say "require Enhanced Security Clearance Ready". What's than mean?

It means that you have to obtain valid security clearance when you apply this job, the consulting firm will not sponsor security clearance for applicants.

One more question: if one employer is applying it for me but have not hire me, could I apply other employers's job which is also need to apply Enhanced Security Clearance?

Yes, you can re-use it anywhere any time, as long as it is not expired.

One point I am still not clear:

I applied for a job in a company,it is applying Enhanced Security Clearance for me, and it will not hire me till I get the Enhanced Security Clearance, but it need long time (no one knows how long it takes).

At this time if I am interested in the other companies' job which also need Enhanced Security Clearance, COULD I apply this job and Enhanced Security Clearance?

Since the company also need to apply the Enhanced Security Clearance for me, what may happen if I am applying Enhanced Security Clearance at two or more companies simutaniously?

You can apply under several companies

The security clearance I talk about only applies to government jobs because that is the only area I know. I am working for the government and sponsor for this kind of security clearances.

You can apply for several companies. We will take whichever company who applies for you earlier. Sometimes an easy case may become complicated. For example, you are signed with company A and B. If the government gave the work to company A, we will exam first of all, if company A itself has the secrity clearance (normally they will). Then we will check you. If we find out that your application is under company B because they applied for you earlier, then we will switch from company A to B for you (you will not notice this switch because we are doing it for you). It will take less time if you have applied already, even less if you have got a security clearnce already. Because the real time for an Enhanced Security is ONE DAY given that every documentation is ready. Just if you have a clearance already, it is very likely you have already had all the necessary documents. However, if you can fill in the form consistently without "holes" in your history, you will get it quickly as well.

For others who think company is not important, I will just ask one question. How about if you (security cleared) get some classified documents and bring to your company, then they leak the information?

There are a lot of policies regarding Security Clearance, and a lot of international agreements with other countries. There are also imperfections in the policies, and they are being updated. Honestly, I do not know every single policy in Canada and every foreign country in detail, only the most common ones.
