Well, Lalime is the one to be blamed. But on the other side ,why Alfie, Hossa, White, Chara, couldn't score, that's another reason for Sens loss. I don't blame the players but I feel that coach should take the responsibility. Leafs take few chances to score and in the defence, they just outnumber Sens and give Sens no chances. Overshoot in this situation will only get things worse, as you tried more, and couldn't get a goal, the more frustrated you will be. Sens did exactly that, a still young team.
Nobody kept bull's eye on him and let him scored eventually winning goals;最初由 heckler 发布
Here is the winning strategy for:
To do against Leafs:
- checking hard on Joe Nieuwendyk, he is only 2 bumps away for retiring for the season;
Chara did pretty good job最初由 heckler 发布
- blocking hard on Gary Roberts, don't let his body pass even the puck slips through;[/B]
It's a big failure to let Domi sparked the first goal最初由 heckler 发布
- banning hard on Tie Domi, better on his face ;[/B]
What to say? McCabe scored the 4th one for leafs最初由 heckler 发布
- intercepting Brian Leetch and Bryan McCabe, this pair did a lot damages to the opponents;[/B]
Sens totally failed on this one最初由 heckler 发布
- blinding Belfour and always preparing to make continous shots on him 3 or 4 times. He is not a talented goalie at all. What he did against Sens was totally ridiculous;[/B]

- special babysitting for Milgony and Sudin ;[/B]
They did.最初由 heckler 发布
To do for Sens self:
- playing Antoine Vermette rather than Jason Spezza. He seems more effective than Jason when playing Leafs;[/B]
It's OK. But Joe N. scored twice from left hand side.最初由 heckler 发布
- putting more defense in the middle where mostly Leafs break through;[/B]
They did decent job in pentaly killing最初由 heckler 发布
- interfereing Leafs' set-up in penalty killing instead of waiting in front of the goal;[/B]
It didn't work very well. They are not tough enough to face the determined leafs' defencemen最初由 heckler 发布
- Using Hossa and Havlet's speed to make Leafs's defense worry about their back court;[/B]
That's probably all Martin can do. He still has a lot of homework to do to figure out how to solve Leafs.最初由 heckler 发布
I am sure a lot more can be added. But Sens will win game 7 if they can execute 70% of my strategies . Well, Jacques must have known it very well now. It seems to me the execution of the plan is the key. [/B]

Jacque Martin is not a bad coach, but he just couldn't bring the Sens to the next level. By replacing him is doing both a favour.

Don't forget SENS has been shut out three time in this series. Players, goalie, and coach are tied together, everyone is responsible for the lost.

like i said, last year, the Avs lost big (5 or 6) to the Red Wings at game 7, and it's because Roy gave up cheap goals. so you think the Avs coach should be changed after that game?
in a game like this, it is very important that the goalie can make curcial saves and not to give up cheap goals. i assume you watched a lot of playoff hockey, i mean not only the Sens games, so i think you should know what i am talking about.

There are seven games in the series. If SENS could execute coach's game plan well and coach can be more creative on how to be effective on powerplay, SENS may not need to go to the 7th game.
I am not denying the bad goals by Lalime tonight, but others has to pick up their slacks as well.

the problems you mentioned might exist but i think they are common to all teams. by saying this i mean, if there is a team who can do what the coach wants them to do, they can win the Cup hands down. more specifically, if the leafs can do what the coach siad, they could have sweeped the Sens. so those common mistakes balanced out. and tonight, the determining reason was the goalie.
i hope you still remember how the Sens won the series in 5 games against the flyers two years ago, nobody, including some Sens fans, thought the Sens can win that series. but they did, why? because Lalime was so good and he shut out the flyers. i am just saying that in playoff, a goalie is probably the most important part among all others. and lalime showed this clearly.

hockey is a team sport so you don't need to have the best players to win the Cup. otherthan the goalies, i mean two of them, the Senators is good enough to wint the Cup. they lost to New Jersey for the same reason, the goalie. in playoff time, the goalie is important because he can affect the confidence of the entire team. but Lalime can only reduce the confidence of other players by giving cheap goals.
1993, the canadiens didn't have a good team, not as good as this Senators team, but they won the Cup, why? because of Patrick Roy. The Senators have been in the playoff for 6 years out of 11 years of the franchise, you think they don't have experiences?
i hope the flyers sweep the leafs. a team like the leafs won't be even in the playoff if they don't have Belfour.

they need to change the goalie, not the coach. at least Martin doesn't bitch about everything, like pat did after every game.

I guess most of you would agree that the goaltending is the key in the playoff. Looking back to those cup winners, none of them didn't have a great goalie. Belfour, Hasek, Roy, Brodeur and the list goes on and on. But of Sens, I think it could be an exception. Sens could still have touched the cup with a mediocre goaltender simply because its superior offence power. Sens scored the most goals in the regular season among all the NHL teams. But when playoff kicked off, they got shut-out 3 times and the goaltender sometimes even performed worse than AHL player. What's the problem with them? I believe it's the mentality issue. From the coach to the player, they don't have that kind of mindset as Leafs do. This directly translated into soft play in the games. What's the solution? It has to be a big sugery to the team. Martin has fulfilled his mission here, he has brought the Sens to today's height and won't be able to make it any better. Lalime should be gone as well as some core players. This club needs more fighting spirit than skills right now.
So far I love Calgary the most in this season. Just look at what they did to Canucks. Each game looked more like a war than a hockey game. They skated like crazy and made shots like frenetic. That's how they created the winning opporttunities. The most classic game was their game 6 when Flames came back from 0:4 defecit and tied up at 4:4. What a buch of worriors.
Well, any one likes to predict the finalists of this year? I, althogh I hate to say so, personally believe Leafs have the best chance to win the Esatern Conference, while the Western one will be won by either Avalance or Red Wings.
