I am sorry buddy, but I disagree with every point you made here.
1. "they lack the passion of Canadian kids for the cups"?
As professional hocky players, the altimate dream is to win NHL playoff and claim the stanley cup, and this dream is not any different for players originated from other part of the world. Sens were critisized for not having the heart pervious years, however I do see lots of passion and determination from this serie(except game 5), Alfersson, Hossa, Havlet all played like they are truely hunger for winning. BTW, the key leaf players such as Sundin, Molginy are from Europe as well.
I don't agree with you on this. There are no players from Europe until in the last 10 years. I doubt they have a strong passion as Canadian kids for the cup as some of them coming here mainly for the money. For sure, if you can win the cup, your price will be higher. But passion is something from your childhood, from your family and from the culture.
2. "they have more people in the defence (that's why Sens doesn't have many chances to score even they outshoot leafs)."?
Leafs and Sens play the same type of game, and it's called for-cheking, sometimes you feel leafs have more defender because the puck is on the toronto half all the time, and Ottawa seemed to have less of player in defense because redden and chara joint attack and were caught in toronto rush.
But don't you see what Sens tries to shoot, how many guys are in front of leafs goal, tons of them, while leafs attack, how many
Sens are in defence. And I feel if one-on-one, Sens doesn't match Leafs.
3. "The coach should be blamed for the loss."?
The only game Ottawa was outcoached was game five, other than that, ottawa outplayed, outshot and outcoached Toronto. Jaque Martine is one of the best coaches in NHL, and the coach should never been blamed if the players decide not to play(game 5)
Outshoot doesn't mean anything in the playoff. You have to score to win, right. That's why I am saying that Sens strategy may prove a failure, as Leafs use more people in the defence, and will grab the few chances to score. Just like the Devils, who is a defence type of team with excellent goales, and they won so many Standly cup.
Martin is good in terms of the skills drill. I also like the way Sens play, more technical, more passing and more move. But you need some passion in the playoff, otherwise, you will be always the best in the regular season and will never win the cup.
no hard feelings, just my two cents!
