扬子江 food varies. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. I think it depends on the cook. If the cook is not happy and has no passion to cook, the food won't be good.

Just like 荔景酒家 (Baseline & Clyde). When 荔景酒家 just opened, the food was good. Now the food is going downhill.

The food at ?都酒家 (in Kanata) show consistency. You may want to try this one.

But of course, the Chinese restaurants in Ottawa have a lot of room for improvements!
 
i have to agree with all of you: the food is so so, let alone the "long-faced" service people, staring at you when you pay the bill (too direct).

on the other hand, have we noticed that all of us have become better cooks now? we have been pushed to extract our potential out?
 
YangZi River的服务员的态度还不够和蔼,亲切感缺乏,让人不自在,饭菜做得还不错就是了。

To be honest, it's almost impossible to find good Chinese food here in Ottawa. Who (good cook) wants to stay in such small town if they can also get a job in bigger towns.......

至於真的老火祛?, 那更是想也不要想
 
我是广东人,我去过长城吃点心,不错,和珠城,扬子差不多。
我从不去那里吃晚饭,因为他不是粤菜。
扬子是粤菜,但是并不是都很好,只有一些炸,煎的菜才好吃,其他的我个人口味觉得很难吃,特别是他的生蚝,一,他用的蒜茸是干的,难吃;二,他有时不是用有壳的生蚝,而是用那种在罐里的,放在壳里头,你说干净不?我吃了几次都是一样。还有你要叫他蒸龙虾,那龙虾出来是硬得你吃不下,蒸龙虾不能超过10分钟,他那种硬法可能蒸了20分钟了。现在我就去那里吃点心,不会再去吃饭。那里的服务千年不改,你要是是中国人去那里,跟本就不会得到好的服务。
珠城的菜有时不是太咸就是太淡。
丽景刚开始很慢的服务,现在好多了,那里的菜还不错。
丽都的那个女的服务生不知道现在还在不,她就当你是讨饭的,把东西扔在你的桌上。
以上都是我个人的意见,没有什么针对和偏见。

长城的菜太难吃了,本来以为换了东家会好点,觉得还不如以前,上次点的冬瓜汤,里面的肉都有臭味。
再也不去了!

我觉得服务最差的是珠城,个个和铁板新村似的。
