What make you think Conservative is going to reduce tax for you? More likely they will reduce tax for the rich, and add more tax to the middle class.

the goal of Conservative party is small goverment and lower tax. I support lower tax!

The fact is the operation of a country needs money. The money has to come from somewhere. There is always a balance here. To lower the tax, it is easier to say than to do. If the country goes to the deficit, jobs are lost. You will miss the day that you were able to pay tax. Sometimes I wish I would pay 1 million tax a year. That means I have enough income to do that.

We need to calculate the cost of the operation of a country needs. We wasted of a lot of money to pay people nothing to do.
Small goverment and lower tax is what I expect.

It's not true here. Yes, to run a country needs money. But how much money it needs depneding on how much programs the government is going to run. For example, the liberal government wants to run a univeral daycare acorss Canada, it needs money and they can collect it by more tax. But some Canadian don't like it, as they prefer to take care of their own kids. So they prefer to lower tax and decide by themselve where to send their kids using these money. You should have choices, not by the government.

Also remember that the efficiency of government is relatively low. It looks that they tax you and tell you that they will use these money in some program. But really how much money will be used in these program is a big question, not to say that liberal is putting
these money into their own pocket disclosed by the scandal. The scandal is just the tip of iceberg. Another example is the gun registration, which liberl spent close to 1 billions and end up with nothing. I heard that some employees in government each got a laptop from that program.

In fact I don't trust any party in handling my money, neither the liberl, nor conservative, not to say NDP. And the only solution for this is to have smaller government and let yourself to decide where you want to spend your money.

Another example is medicare. How much money does Canada spend on this? I rememebr it's 45 cents for every tax dollar. But what's the result, the waiting time is getting longer, and good doctors/nurses are heading south. So just injecting money is not the solution and I feel that they should introduce private system to make it work efficintly. On the other side, if government doesn't have to inject so-much money into healthcare and allow private segment get into service, you can used the tax money saved to buy your own private health insurance and get the necessary service where you like.

Don't trust the government, who claim they can try to serve you better. They only want to collect more money as the more money they get, the more power they have, and the more money they can play around. If there is no auditting, you will never know how much money they have wasted and if you do more auditting, I am sure you will find more holes.

大家可不可以谈一下保守党的外交政策？我觉得这也同样攸关每个人的利益，我不赞同保守党追随美国，特别是本届美国政府的失败的全球战略。

光盯着自己那无斗米是不够的，万一那天加拿大加入类似于“解放伊拉克“的战争，银子从哪里来？

I don't like Conservative's policy on this front either, at least those guys like Stockwell Day. But I feel that it's not exactly true here to say that Canada should not follow USA. Remember George Bush is just an extremist in USA and he shouldn't represent USA for all the time. There are slightly over 50% American also against him. He will soon be gone and I hope the new USA leader should be more moderate. On the other side, Canada should keep a good relation with USA, which is good for both country, especially good for Canada.

So I feel that you should not be afraid of conservative, just because some of their policy are pro-USA. Every party has its good and bad sides and which one you want to vote, will depend on how you weight each of these sides.

But how much we have to pay for these lessons. Gun registration won't stop people smuggling guns from US. Don't you think those guns used in Toronto by gangs are registered. Well, you can argue that the initiation is good, but the leadership should be able to forsee that some initiation out of will won't work anyway, otherwise everyone can be the prime minster of this country as long as he/she has a good will.

I am not against people having more kids. But I feel people should have more choice other than only one which is decided by the government. Why stay-home mom couldn't get tax break just because they choose to raise their kids by themselve. If they could get tax break, they could also have more children. The univeral medical in Canada is already a failure example, and one more such program like univeral daycare won't lead us anywhere better.

Why do you tell me that every goverment's programs are the same? Smaller government means less programs run by the government and you have more money saved from tax in your pocket which you can decide where you want to spend.

The bottomline is I want to decide where I want to spend my money (not the government through taxing) and I want choices.

I won't complain if there is less service as long as I get some of my tax money back, as I can use these money to buy the service I want.
For example, I won't mind paying user fee for seeing a doctor as long as I don't have to wait for such a long time. I won't mind paying fees for going swimming and skating in the city as long as they don't raise my property tax year by year. I am not fooled by such idiot
thoughts that everyhing in this country is free, as by looking at my payroll, I understand that I am ripped off by this government.

If the majority in this country has to rely on the social program run by the government, then there is no hope for this country. The government should encourage people to work hard by taxing them less. That's the only solution to move this country ahead and survive through tough competition in current world.

在加拿大这种改良的资产阶级的社会主义国家，如果想实现小政府和低税收和防止腐败，只能是政治体制改革，进化民主制度，强化监督机制，提高政府运作效率，而不是靠减少项目，也不是喊出个小政府的口号就能实现的。小政府的口号和低税收的口号不过就是竞选的需要，也许给出些蝇头小利。口号好喊，到最后政策失败赤字高悬的时候，再换执政党，就是这么个循环。

搞不好自由党成了多数政府，保守党偷鸡不成失把米。
这几年加拿大经济成就的确令人瞩目，账目有点糊涂但总有余钱；保守党账目上倒是清楚得很，但是钱都打水漂了，还是白搭。

Support!不要让"we need a change and let's give conservative a chance"这样的话蒙蔽.

如果抛开伟大的牛克思主义不谈，从绚烂的外太空小政府理想回到蔚蓝色的地球，把北美大陆板块中的加拿大作为着脚点，还是可以具体分析一下两党的减税项目的。因为他们都号称要减税。一个是income tax, 一个是GST.再具体一下就可以分析一下华人的特点。

那么对于华人这个特殊群体来说，华人作为一群人，习惯是什么？华人的勤奋，节俭和高储蓄是出了名的，还有犹太人。华人采用的多不是超前消费。也就是说已经奋斗出来的华人很可能在减入息税中获得更大的好处，而还处于奋斗阶段的华人很可能得益于自由党或者NDP的福利政策，但华人绝对不会躺在福利政策上睡大觉，因为华人的骨子里面的念头就是奋斗出来。向还正在艰苦中奋斗的同胞致敬。
