Those 90% of people are equally smart if not smarter. There must be a good reason for this.

There were two fatal car accidents happened yesterday morning! The first one involves a BMW car; the another involves a Toyota car. Check the scene pics and reports:

1. Crash closes Merivale between Baseline and Kirkwood
2. Death revives King Edward traffic debate

From the pics, it looks like the BMW was damaged much more than the Toyota, but the drivers' situation is just opposite: the BMW's driver had minor back injury; the Toyota's driver was unfortunately - dead.

Just can't believe it what happened to that Toyota car!!! The driver side of the car was intact at all.

The first accident involved a BMW car and a scooter; while the second one involved a Toyota car and a dump truck.

No surprise at all that the driver in the BMW was Okay. She/he could be Okay in any car when in an collision with a scooter.

Imagine the impact from a dump truck. What kind of vehicles could be strong enough or safe enough when in a collision with a dump truck.

By the way, the dump truck hit the passenger side of the Toyota, that was the reason why "The driver side of the car was intact at all".

A Mack truck directly (possibly at higher speed) hitting the side of a car is completely different from hitting a pillar or whatever that was.

I agree.

However, if you check the 1st accident's picture, it looks like the BMW hit a light post badly afterward even having its main frame bended greatly...

For the Toyota case, how was the huge impact passed to the driver from the passenger side? Just shocked!!!

Yeah. Guess the driver of the BMW was trying to avoid something and then hit the pole, etc. It was still different than being hit by a vehicle like a dump truck.

The big 3 have average hourly at $70/h (Cut to $63 ish with the recent vote) while the Japanese makers range around $45.

For god's sake, American carmakers need to trim down their fat.

From another post:

http://bbs.comefromchina.com/forum4/thread671190.html

...。

And this makes sense too:

...。

... ... ...

en, this makes a lot sense...:)
