how many Chinese bought BRAND NEW US cars? not many, I believe less than 5%; and how many bought USED US cars? Many, may be over 20% because it is cheaper due to the depreciation rate. I bought a 5 year old Buick and only cost me $8k (a middle size V6 car, 100km, brandnew price is over 30k). The main reason I bought is the price of the USED US car, at least 50% cheaper than similar models from Japan, Germany. Also it is kind of misleading if someone says that US car is safer than Japanese? it has to be compared in the same category, i.e. Compact vs Compact, and midsize vs midsize. Can you say midszie Cammy is much safer than compact size Focus? it is not a fair comparison.
I bought a brand new Japanese SUV over 32k, I knew after 5 years I still can sell it over 20k. This is the main reason I bought it, let alone the overall quality.
Money tells everything. For those US car supporters, are you a real US brand new car fan or a US used car bargainor? I think most of used US car owners including myself bought their cars for the same reason, please 不谈政治, as we are just ordinary people.
