I am so pissed off at myself!
I wish I have held on to by BAC August 15 calls and ELN 8 calls. My friends, all hard home work is worth of nothing if there was no conviction with a commitment made in the marketplace. Both buys may turn to multiple baggers within days but I got rid of them when there was a long time left until expiration.
Another expensive lesson paid in high tuition fees.
Oh well, a decision can only be judged right or wrong after the fact. We all wish we had a crystal ball regarding how things will shape up at the time when we make the decision. Can't dwell on past mistakes, time to move on and upwards!

This drug is huge but I can't find the royalty agreement anywhere. It is definitely not publicly announced and that is the reason why I was not aware of this deal. I am happy for your friend and I am happy for myself as I effectively control 25K shares with my LEAP calls. Check how Dublin and London trade on Monday morning before the US market opens. I would not be surprised to see ELN open in double digit in New York.
As for the trade with DVAX for BAC, I an very long on both and feel that you may be right for a day or two or even longer, but if and when the DVAX news breaks out to be positive, you will feel sorry, very sorry, for your swap if you don't buy back soon. A positve news on Heplisav pushing DVAX up 200-300% in a day would not surprise me at all! But DAVX may also tank by 50-60% on a negative news. Do your own research and best of lucks!
A colleague has followed my trades and now owns large positions in BAC, MGM and DVAX. He is up big time and will take me out for dinner soon. Take me out for dinner if you make it big. The fxxking FDA has ruined my life with the Provenge disapproval in May 2007. Now it approved a drug that might indirectly benefit me financially via my stock owneship and the news broke on a nice Friday night when everybody is probably out for fun. Thanks, the damned FDA for ruining my life again, a bike ride on a nice Friday evening this time around!
The fxxking FDA has ruined my life with the Provenge disapproval in May 2007. Now it approved a drug that might indirectly benefit me financially via my stock owneship and the news broke on a nice Friday night when everybody is probably out for fun. Taking today off to trade this partnership news. Bought at 6.5 in early PM trading and sold at 10.2, looking for an re-entry to go long for the end of October FDA action.
Its mid-night sleep aid has finished two Phase III clinical trials with statistically significant and clinically meaningful results. The NDA was submitted to the FDA and the original FDA action date was the end of July. But the FDA requested more info and the company has submitted what was requested. The FDA has re-established October 30 as the final action date.
The company is cash rich without debt. The float is tiny. Today's partnership with Purdue adds $30M cash to the coffer from the upfront payment, with another instalment of cash payment to be made upon approval. The royalty is in the low 20's. Overall, a great deal!
Approval is not writing on the wall until the approval letter is received. But the expectations for approval are high. I am dubbing this as one of my next DNDN candidates in percentage terms, one of my "quintupplet biotech plays in 2009". With the first successful trade in hand, I need another big win before going big into it, waiting for a forceful pullback for a quick trade re-entry.

The SEC is sueing BAC for the Merrill Lynch acquisition
Funny American politics, indeed! Why doesn't the SEC sue the FED and the Treasury? Mr. Lewis was manhandled by the FED and the Treasury to buy Merrill. Paulson's testimony made that so clearly. This Merrill acquisition may have indeed saved the American financial system and hence the world. Poor weak hands gave up enormously undervalued shares to the Specialist and shorts who were running for cover! Too bad, this BAC bull am up to my throat and cannot take advantage of this buying opportunity!
