有人在网上发帖问老薛到底是什么样的人,我认识他已经快20年了,自认为完全有资格来谈谈老薛的为人.

老薛从95年起就是中华会馆的执行委员,现在是中华会馆的现任主席.他是前两年成立的加华文化中心的四个发起人之一.

去年的国会山奥林匹克游行是他参与主办的.渥太华每年的春节庙会,华人篮球锦标赛也都是由他参与组织的.几年前他和朋友在Barhaven区创办了天天中文学校.5年前,有个中国留学生在学校受人欺负,老薛以中华会馆的名义跑到学校去协商.他为社区做过不少事儿.

老薛在国内是个教书匠,现在渥太华,多伦多还有不少人是他的学生.老薛在这儿就是做保险理财生意的,他的办公室地址,电话在网上都找得到,你要是对国会山上搞国庆这么大意见,你随时可以去找他谈,他是个很open的人。你要是对他作中华会馆主席有意见,中华会馆每两年换届选举,欢迎你到时候投票或发表自己的意见

可能是他职业的关系，使馆是让他赚钱的菩萨，只能供着，言听计从，马前鞍后，也不容易啊， 不过在加拿大２１年，估计早是加拿大国籍了，做事情，特别是扯上政治关系的，还是慎重点好， 你，你的家人是准备在加拿大常住的，对吧？

Making money with help of the embassy is not a big deal since someone else will make it if he does not get the chance. It is his own business. The issue about him is if it is wise for him to organize a celebration at parliament hill. That he is nice does not mean that he always does wise things. The people who work in embassy may not know Canada very well since they do not have chance to stay here long. They may care more about their short-term achievement which may not be great at all. I definitely will not join.

My concerning is I ,my family will still live in canada, in the future my grandkids will live in this country too.Now lcoal ppl in Canada don't have problem with chinese canadian. I don't wanna some sucker doing some stupid thing for their owner purpose, and in the future it may ruin other chinese canadian's peaceful life in this country.
