Is Government Term Position a Good Option?

I understand that term has the same benefit of the permanent, but I am not sure if union can help with the unstable nature of the term, or at least to stop agency from canceling the term anytime before the term ends. What is the policy to cancel the term before the expiration date? This term is longer than 12 months. Is this type of term likely to be transferred into permanent? How long is probation period typically? Thanks!

So that means Term is not a good option if they can terminate the term any time. Do not mention term position, even it is a Permanent Position, you still have a long probation period, they can terminate it during this long period

everywhere, every contract has a termination date. I am permanent and my contract end date is Dec 31, 2999. Why not get it first and wait to see what happen a year after.
