Buffett actually always makes bets - when the chance is substantially in his favor. In "Snowball", he is summarized as being a super handicapper. So, he bets all the time.

I don't know about Livermore. If there is one bullet in a gun and there is 1 out 1 million chance of this bullet being fired, Buffett said he wouldn't bet this game of pointing the gun at his head and pulling trigger once no matter what the wager is. Maybe that is the difference.

I don't know what exactly bashing means. I think comparing a company to a character makes things simple and to the point. Of course, different people have different characters in mind of the same company. There is nothing personal in it.

I like your play in bio field. It is simple and dramatic....

DNDN v.s. WFC

DNDN has 130 M shares and $1000 per share means $130 B. It is not impossible but the degree of difficulty is surely high.

I don't think WFC will go to $1000 as this means $5000 B ($5 T) market value in 10 years. I think it can be worth $100 in ten years (including dividends and buybacks etc).

So the math is like: probability of DNDN x $1000 versus probability of WFC x $100. I think probability of WFC is close to 1 but have no idea of probability of DNDN.

However, it seems a positive FDA approval shall project DNDN to probably $100 near term. Based on my limited knowledge (mainly from your postings and other legacy readings), its technology seems to open a new venue in bio science and is quite significant.

The difference between WFC's $100 and DNDN's $100 is that WFC is based on current earning power while DNDN is based on future earning power (like GOOG first went IPO). So, different approaches shall be needed to harvest benefits from both WFC and DNDN if one still wants to keep one's shirts at the end of the day...

I take my DNDN and LVS plays very personally!!!!!!! Of course, that is off market times. I play my market games with my head not my heart in market time but off market time, I don't like any negative word on DNDN and LVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The pps movements are decided by the big boys, not some posts in CFC，period！ But off market hours, I don't take any negative word on DNDN and LVS emotionally! I challenge you to short/put these two issues.

At the end of the day today, DNDN is about 7 dollars higher than WFC. It is not the end of the day, markets do open tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and the day after, after, after! You and I can argue about the merits/shortcomings of each and every different approach. But I prefer that off the public domain. You stop publically bashing my DNDN/LVS or our communications end right here and now. CFC readers don't influence any pps but emotionally, I can't take any bashing, period! I may wake up tomorrow morning and sell all my DNDN/LVS calls and go puts but your rampant bashing them here irritates me to hell! Want to take my offer of May 35 puts. Any number of puts you want but I don't have the cash to back it up. Did you play bear spreads (bear butterfly even better?)? Wake up to the coffee, my friend. If your play is wrong, be a man and admit it/cut loss. Mr. Market doesn't listen to you and me, understand? My calls doesn't affact DNDN pps one bit, buy or sell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CFCers can't influence DNDN/LVS pps even one cent, I bet my house on that!

Please don't bullshit otherwise. Either this thread turns into a best-selling book or gets abolished while I all-together quit WS unexpectedly/pre-maturedly. I don't take any in-between as an answer. Anyone: take your position based on your DD but please don't bash my positions. I simply can't take that emotonally off market hours! I am just an amateur interested in stock investment. What remarks I made that make you think this way ? I have no interest in attracting any businesses and I have long given up attracting other people from this board to read 10-K's.

Anyway, let's focus on bio and put aside the rest. Just regard my remarks as gibberish and I will be careful in future not to mention Buffett etc here.

I have long ago decided that big boys decide what price DNDN/LVS is at, among other stocks. You came along, excited discussions, and I provided my DD's, free regretably --- I need to spit them out. You took advantage of my analyses and ran your operations (perhaps) and came on board whenever your hypothetical plays go against you. Reveal the fact that you are making your living with stock speculation/attracting business via posting here, I will give you a break. Go to hell otherwise. One thousand dollars per piece of analysis (no more than an hour per consultation and I only take cash, haha, just for you!)

March 29th

I looked at the calendar this morning and noticed that another March 29th arrives on Monday. I can't help but deeply reflect the significance of March 29th, 2007. Vivid memories flash by and events ever since seem like happenings of yesterday.

March 29th, 2007: I was planning to drive down to New Jersey with a friend to attend the FDA's AC panel on DNDN's Provenge. Sudden events made us cancel the planned trip and I ended up listening to the Panel discussions through my low-speed internet connection. I did not eat, dirnk nor doing anything else but glued myself to my computer speaker and screen. 17-0 and 13-4 were the final votes.

March 29th, 2008: I was still buried under a mountain of margin debt, with not even a glimpse of hope simmering in the deepest of my mind and not daring to even dream about a come-back effort in the slightest sense.

March 29th, 2009: I was plowing more and more BAC options winnings into DNDN, mounting a small-scale come-back effort.

March 29th, 2010: I am sitting in front of my computer, deep in reflection about life, eagerly looking forward to its arrival. What will it bring about? Will I wake up to some pleasant surprises? ...... Like any other, it is simply another day coming and going, nothing more nothing less. The earth will still turn, the sun rise from the east and life go on! In the grand scheme of things, all will end, sooner or later.
