The hot real estate market in the capital has residents lining up for days to get the chance to buy a home in a new east-end development.
Although the homes don't go for sale until the end of the week, eager homeowners started lining up outside the sales office of Tamarack Homes in Orleans on Monday morning.
The residents are hoping for the chance to buy a home in the company's phase two development of the Chaparral community.
Although people have lined up overnight before, the sales team told CTV Ottawa on Tuesday that they've never seen people line up so many days in advance.
"This is an accumulation, I believe, of people waiting almost a year -- we've had no lots," said Noella Francouer of Tamarack Homes.
The neighbourhood has 45 lots designated for bungalows and single family homes, which will be released for sale on Friday.
