August 24 update: In response to complaints that the duties on top of the marked up Canadian prices were too high, J.Crew has dropped the charge for duty in their online store. This means that, although prices will still be higher in Canada (around 15%), you will not be charged duties on top of the $9.95 flat rate ground shipping.
We also noticed that they are offering an extra 30% off final sale items in the online store. To get the discount, enter promo code MUSTSHOP at checkout. The code will be valid until 11:59PM on August 25.
Originally posted August 18: J.Crew just opened their first store in Canada this morning, and if you live in Toronto, you're in luck; it's at Yorkdale Shopping Centre. The store currently only carries pieces from their women's collection. For now, the store includes limited edition pieces, a shoe shop, a cashmere section and personal shopping service.
There's also news for their online store: starting now, orders are being shipped to Canada at a flat rate of $9.95 US.
