天主教徒常在聖母像前祈禱, 當然是以聖母為祈禱對象哩。

這没有甚麼不妥，只是新教徒扣上帽子：禱告便是崇拜。

By kneeling in front of and praying to their images made of gold, silver, woods, rocks and ... cement?

I don't think I need to quote relevant scriptures here, do I?

Catholics pray to Mary and saints do not imply that the prayer stops there. Catholics ask Mary and the saints to pray with us and for us as we pray to God.

Of course, one can pray directly to God. However, in James 5:16, it says:
所以你們要彼此告罪，彼此祈禱，為得痊癒。 義人懇切的祈禱，大有功效。
The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.
